Honed & polished concrete
Same architectural supply chain as exposed aggregate- different surface finish. The difference is in how the surface is processed: honed concrete is mechanically ground to a refined matte finish and sealed. Both finishes start with the same architectural mix design. polished concrete takes the mechanical grinding process to a high-gloss finish, typically used for interior ground slabs, garages and undercover alfrescos. Decorative ground slabs are poured at 32MPa to accommodate the polishing process.

The driveway required a complete level redesign from the ground up. The original grades were inadequate for the site, so Colacrete completed some earthworks — grading, levelling and compaction — before any formwork was set, incorporating two graduated transitions from the garage to the street to achieve correct drainage and a natural visual flow.
Access to the rear of the property for the pool surround and alfresco pours required a managed wheelbarrow operation — common on Henley Brook's larger blocks where the truck cannot reach the back of house directly. The pool surround integrated with cantilevered pool edge system and tied in carefully with the client's concrete integrated pool cover.
Slurry management was handled throughout the exposed aggregate pressure wash stage using a sediment trapping system — no cementitious runoff reached the street drains.
The honed section for the pool surround was poured using 32MPa concrete, which is a requirement for honing.
