Exposed aggregate
Architectural aggregate finishes sourced from premium Australian suppliers including Boral, Limecrete, WA Premix and Heidelberg Materials. Available mixes include Coral White, Eucalyptus White and Kaajani Grey among many others — see samples in person at our supplier partners in East Perth, Bibra Lake and Osborne Park before committing.

Honed & polished concrete
Honed and polished concrete are architectural finishes from the same premium supply chain as exposed aggregate. The difference is in how the surface is processed: honed concrete is mechanically ground to a refined matte finish and sealed. Both finishes start with the same architectural mix design. Polished concrete takes the mechanical grinding process to a high-gloss finish, typically used for interior ground slabs, garages and undercover alfrescos. Decorative ground slabs are poured at 32MPa to accommodate the polishing process.
Our work in Treeby
Grey concrete house paths and alfresco — finishing a new home's outdoor surrounds
In Treeby, Colacrete completed a grey concrete scope for a residential client covering the surrounding house paths and the alfresco entertaining area — the external concrete package that ties the outdoor surrounds of a new home together and makes the property fully liveable.
House paths and alfresco concrete on a new estate home are typically one of the last scopes completed as a build finishes. They connect the garage, front entry, side access and rear alfresco into a functional outdoor system, and the finished product is the first thing visitors walk on when they arrive.
The surrounding house paths were poured in standard grey concrete to Colacrete's full specification: 100mm thick, 25MPa minimum concrete strength, SL62 reinforcing mesh on bar chairs with 8mm corner bars. Subgrade preparation — levelling and compaction — was completed ahead of the pour across the full path footprint. The alfresco area was poured as part of the same scope, consistent in specification and finish throughout.
Grey concrete was the right product choice for this scope — functional, durable and cost-effective for paths and alfresco areas where the finish serves a practical purpose rather than a decorative one. Where homeowners in Treeby want to upgrade the finish on a driveway or alfresco, exposed aggregate in natural coastal tones is the most popular choice in this suburb's modern estate homes.
The Colacrete standard

We pride ourselves on our prompt communication with all our clients. Not only do we aim to provide quotes within 24-48 hours, but we also keep our clients well informed before, during and after the works.
Our experience
We are owner-operated, and our director comes from an engineering background, having graduated from Curtin University and having worked as an engineer for several years. He also comes from a concreting family, with concreting experience spanning decades.
Why Treeby homeowners and builders choose Colacrete
Treeby sits within the City of Cockburn in Perth's southern growth corridor — one of Perth's newer estate suburbs, predominantly developed from the 2010s onwards with modern homes on standard estate lots. The suburb's housing stock is almost entirely contemporary, and the typical outdoor concrete scope reflects this: house surrounds, alfresco areas and driveways on new builds or properties where the outdoor areas are being completed after the build. Sandy soils consistent with the Perth coastal plain are typical throughout Treeby's estate stages — generally good subgrade conditions that support straightforward concrete work. For new estate homes, Colacrete's scope often forms part of the landscape and outdoor finishing phase that follows the building certificate, tying together the paths, alfresco and driveway as a single functional outdoor system.
Colacrete is a member of the Housing Industry Australia (HIA), Master Builders Association (MBA) and Concrete Institute of Australia (CIA). Eddie brings an engineering background in civil and construction management alongside long-standing experience across concreting and general construction projects spanning a wide variety of disciplines, scales and scopes.

A covered alfresco structure in Treeby generally requires a building permit — the concrete slab is part of that permitted scope. Uncovered concrete patio areas may not require a permit depending on size and proximity to boundaries. Crossovers require City of Cockburn approval separately. We advise on what approvals apply to your specific scope during the site visit and quoting process.

Treeby's contemporary rendered homes suit finishes that complement clean, modern architecture. For driveways, exposed aggregate in neutral coastal tones — Limecrete's Coral White or Eucalyptus White, or Boral's Atlantis Beach — is the most popular choice in Treeby's estate stages. For alfresco areas and house paths, grey concrete is a practical and cost-effective choice. Honed concrete is popular for alfresco areas where a more refined finish is preferred. Liquid limestone suits pool surrounds and outdoor areas on properties with coastal or Hamptons-style architecture.

Yes — combining these areas in one scope is the most efficient approach and produces better visual consistency than staging them separately. Subgrade preparation, compaction and level setting is completed across the full outdoor footprint before any formwork is placed, and concrete is poured in a planned sequence. The transitions between path, alfresco and driveway are designed as an integrated outdoor system rather than as separate unconnected elements.

Standard grey concrete for house paths and alfresco areas is priced at $85 to $170/m2 depending on size, complexity and access. A typical new estate alfresco of 25–40m2 with surrounding paths comes to approximately $4,000–$8,000 for the concrete work. Subgrade preparation is priced separately from $1,500 where required.
