Exposed aggregate
Architectural aggregate finishes sourced from premium Australian suppliers including Boral, Limecrete, WA Premix and Heidelberg Materials. Available mixes include Coral White, Eucalyptus White and Kaajani Grey among many others — see samples in person at our supplier partners in East Perth, Bibra Lake and Osborne Park before committing.

Honed & polished concrete
Honed and polished concrete are architectural finishes from the same premium supply chain as exposed aggregate. The difference is in how the surface is processed: honed concrete is mechanically ground to a refined matte finish and sealed. Both finishes start with the same architectural mix design. Polished concrete takes the mechanical grinding process to a high-gloss finish, typically used for interior ground slabs, garages and undercover alfrescos. Decorative ground slabs are poured at 32MPa to accommodate the polishing process.
Our work in Morley
A 250m² grey concrete package — driveway, carport slab and hardstand on a large Morley block
In Morley, Colacrete completed one of the larger residential grey concrete scopes we've delivered in the City of Bayswater: over 250m² of concrete across the driveway, carport slab and surrounding hardstand areas. A job of this volume requires careful coordination of the concrete delivery programme — managing pour sequencing, truck timing and crew deployment so the concrete is placed, screeded and finished properly across each zone before the mix window closes.
The carport slab was poured as a flat structural pad to the specification required by the carport structure above — reinforced with SL62 mesh on bar chairs and poured at 25MPa to our standard specification. The driveway and surrounding hardstand were poured with correct surface falls designed to sheet water away from the structure in all directions. Control joints were planned and placed deliberately across the full footprint, accounting for the transition between the flat carport zone and the falling driveway areas.
Concrete was delivered at the correct slump from the batching plant and placed without adding water on site — critical on a job this size where any reduction in mix strength would affect performance across the entire 250m² scope. A subgrade preparation and levelling scope was completed ahead of the pour using a bobcat to establish the finished surface levels required across each zone.

Why Morley homeowners and builders choose Colacrete
Morley sits within the City of Bayswater in Perth's established northern corridor — a suburb of post-war homes, steady renewal activity and increasing investment as the area benefits from improved amenity and inner-ring accessibility. Soils in Morley are predominantly sandy, consistent with Perth's coastal plain — subgrade conditions are generally predictable but compaction quality before the pour remains important on older lots where fill or disturbed ground may exist. The most common concrete scope in Morley mirrors the suburb's renovation activity: driveway upgrades, carport slab and footing additions on properties extending their covered parking, and outdoor living improvements as owners finish renovation projects. The ability to handle both the structural footings and the surrounding driveway as one integrated scope is a recurring requirement in Morley's renovation market.
Colacrete is a member of the Housing Industry Australia (HIA), Master Builders Association (MBA) and Concrete Institute of Australia (CIA). Eddie brings an engineering background in civil and construction management alongside long-standing experience across concreting and general construction projects spanning a wide variety of disciplines, scales and scopes.

Morley's established homes suit a range of finishes depending on the scope and budget. For driveways, exposed aggregate — particularly warm-toned mixes from Boral and WA Premix — makes a meaningful difference to the street presence of Morley's brick homes and is a strong investment ahead of sale. Grey concrete remains the practical choice for carport slabs, garage pads and functional areas. For pool surrounds in older properties, honed concrete or liquid limestone are both well suited to the suburb's established character.

Yes — this is the most efficient approach for Morley's renovation projects. We complete the earthworks and level design across the full site, pour the carport footings first to set anchor bolt positions, then complete the carport slab and driveway in a coordinated programme. Integrating the scopes means the level transitions between the flat carport pad and the falling driveway are designed as one system — not two jobs that have to match up after the fact.
