Exposed aggregate
Architectural aggregate finishes sourced from premium Australian suppliers including Boral, Limecrete, WA Premix and Heidelberg Materials. Available mixes include Coral White, Eucalyptus White and Kaajani Grey among many others — see samples in person at our supplier partners in East Perth, Bibra Lake and Osborne Park before committing.

Honed & polished concrete
Honed and polished concrete are architectural finishes from the same premium supply chain as exposed aggregate. The difference is in how the surface is processed: honed concrete is mechanically ground to a refined matte finish and sealed. Both finishes start with the same architectural mix design. Polished concrete takes the mechanical grinding process to a high-gloss finish, typically used for interior ground slabs, garages and undercover alfrescos. Decorative ground slabs are poured at 32MPa to accommodate the polishing process.
Our work in Eden Hill
Driveway replacements across Eden Hill's established character streets
Eden Hill sits within the Town of Bassendean — one of Perth's older established suburbs where character homes are well-loved but original driveways, many laid in the 1950s through to 1970s, are now reaching or past their service life. Colacrete has completed consistent driveway and crossover replacement work in Eden Hill, with a pattern that repeats across the suburb: slabs laid thin, without adequate reinforcement.
Our replacement process is straightforward but thorough: saw cut and remove the old concrete, reassess the subgrade, and pour a new slab to our full quality specification. Every Eden Hill replacement is stronger than what it replaces.
This is exactly the work we did for our client’s driveway and crossover replacement in Eden Hill. Colacrete removed the old driveway and crossover, corrected the subgrade, and poured a brand new grey concrete slab with line cutting. Our client was thrilled.
All crossover work is completed to Town of Bassendean specification.

Why Bassendean homeowners and builders choose Colacrete
Bassendean is governed by the Town of Bassendean and sits on the Swan River floodplain — an established inner-ring suburb of character homes, many built between the 1950s and 1970s. Soils in Bassendean are predominantly sandy with some areas of older fill on subdivided lots; the floodplain influence means subgrade conditions can vary and are worth assessing before any slab is poured. The suburb is undergoing steady renewal as owners invest in character properties with good bones. The dominant concrete scope here is the replacement market: driveways and crossovers that were adequate for their era but are now cracking, heaving or draining poorly. Colacrete's capability in both the earthworks and the concrete means we can fix both problems as part of one scope.
Colacrete is a member of the Housing Industry Australia (HIA), Master Builders Association (MBA) and Concrete Institute of Australia (CIA). Eddie brings an engineering background in civil and construction management alongside long-standing experience across concreting and general construction projects spanning a wide variety of disciplines, scales and scopes.

For Eden Hill's established character homes, an exposed aggregate driveway — particularly in warm neutral tones from Limecrete, Boral or WA Premix — makes a noticeable difference to street presence and is a strong investment ahead of sale. Grey concrete remains a sound choice where budget is the primary consideration. Pool surrounds in older properties in Eden Hill suit liquid limestone or honed concrete — both handle the suburb's riverside microclimate well and complement the established home character.

Driveway replacement in Eden Hill involves: removal of the old concrete from $2,500 (first load — includes saw cutting, removal and tipping), subgrade preparation from $1,500, and new concrete at $90–$130/m² for standard grey. A typical Eden Hill driveway of 35–50m² comes to approximately $7,000–$11,000 all-inclusive for a standard grey replacement. Exposed aggregate starts from $140/m² in addition to the earthworks costs.
