Exposed aggregate
Architectural aggregate finishes sourced from premium Australian suppliers including Boral, Limecrete, WA Premix and Heidelberg Materials. Available mixes include Coral White, Eucalyptus White and Kaajani Grey among many others — see samples in person at our supplier partners in East Perth, Bibra Lake and Osborne Park before committing.

Honed & polished concrete
Honed and polished concrete are architectural finishes from the same premium supply chain as exposed aggregate. The difference is in how the surface is processed: honed concrete is mechanically ground to a refined matte finish and sealed. Both finishes start with the same architectural mix design. Polished concrete takes the mechanical grinding process to a high-gloss finish, typically used for interior ground slabs, garages and undercover alfrescos. Decorative ground slabs are poured at 32MPa to accommodate the polishing process.
Our work in North Coogee
Surrounding paths and two crossovers at an apartment complex — commercial concrete across multiple stages
In North Coogee, Colacrete completed a commercial concrete scope for a builder client at an apartment development: grey concrete surrounding paths around the site perimeter and two council-compliant crossovers to City of Cockburn specification.
The scope was delivered in three separate stages across three distinct mobilisations. The surrounding paths were completed in two separate pours — staged to allow ongoing site activity to continue between pours without disrupting the construction programme or creating access issues across the apartment site. The two crossovers were completed as a separate mobilisation, coordinated with the City of Cockburn's crossover requirements.
Working at an active apartment site is a different operational environment from a residential job. Concrete deliveries need to be scheduled around other trades, access routes need to be maintained for the site while work is underway, and the finished product sits within a commercial development.
The Colacrete standard
Build to spec
Where a licensed structural engineer has specified drawings, Colacrete works to those specifications. If no drawings or specifications are provided, we work to industry standards.
Communication
We pride ourselves on our prompt communication with all our clients. Not only do we aim to provide quotes within 24-48 hours, but we also keep our clients well informed before, during and after the works.
Our experience
We are owner-operated, and our director comes from an engineering background, having graduated from Curtin University and having worked as an engineer for several years. He also comes from a concreting family, with concreting experience spanning decades.
Why North Coogee homeowners and builders choose Colacrete
North Coogee sits within the City of Cockburn on Perth's southern coastal strip — a suburb that has undergone significant transformation over the past two decades, driven by the Port Coogee marina development and the broader residential and mixed-use intensification of the southern coastal corridor. The suburb now hosts a mix of premium residential apartments, townhouses and marina-facing properties that attract significant construction and renovation activity. Soils along the North Coogee coastal strip are predominantly sandy with limestone substrate consistent with the western coastal plain, though fill and disturbed ground are common on development sites in this area. For commercial development projects, the City of Cockburn's crossover and public infrastructure specifications apply — requirements that Colacrete is familiar with across both residential and commercial land uses.
The ability to manage a commercial concrete scope across multiple stages and mobilisations — coordinating with a builder's active site programme, maintaining access and delivering council-compliant work without issues — is what earns repeat work from commercial builder clients in North Coogee and across Perth's active development corridor.
Colacrete is a member of the Housing Industry Australia (HIA), Master Builders Association (MBA) and Concrete Institute of Australia (CIA). Eddie brings an engineering background in civil and construction management alongside long-standing experience across concreting and general construction projects spanning a wide variety of disciplines, scales and scopes.

Yes — all crossovers in North Coogee require City of Cockburn approval before construction, covering width, materials, gradient and drainage. For commercial developments including apartments and multi-residential sites, crossover requirements are typically defined within the development approval conditions and may be subject to additional specifications compared to residential crossovers. Colacrete builds all crossovers in North Coogee to City of Cockburn specification.

North Coogee's premium coastal character suits architectural finishes. For residential driveways, exposed aggregate in lighter coastal tones — Limecrete's Coral White or pale stone blends from Boral — suits the suburb's marina and coastal aesthetic well. Liquid limestone is popular for pool surrounds and outdoor entertaining areas in the Port Coogee precinct. Grey concrete is the standard for commercial paths, crossovers and infrastructure works. Honed concrete is increasingly specified for alfresco areas and pool surrounds on North Coogee's premium apartment and townhouse developments.
-
Yes — Colacrete has completed commercial concrete scopes at apartment developments in North Coogee, managing multiple separate stages and mobilisations around an active construction programme. Commercial sites require a different operational approach to residential jobs: concrete deliveries must be scheduled around other trades, site access must be maintained, and the finished product must comply with the commercial development specifications and council requirements.
